Girls Playing with Fire

You might fantasize about your best friend’s dad, but you’re never supposed to act on it. What happens if you dare to play with fire?

What’s the worst that can happen if you go into a haunted house, on Halloween night, in a Catwoman suit?

You could get arrested for trespassing, because you just turned 18 and the cops have warned you about this sort of thing. Or you could get shot by the grumpy Navy SEAL who spends his leave fixing the supposedly abandoned house. What if instead of shooting you, he decides to teach you a lesson?

When my mother dragged me across the continent to marry a much older man, the last thing I imagined was that I was going to fall for my much older stepbrother.

And how could I not fall for him?! He’s gorgeous, has great taste in cars, clothes and watches, and, under the cool façade, he’s immensely kind. Too bad he’s entirely off limits.

“You remind me of my ex-wife” might be the worst pick-up line in history.

The ex-wife in question happens to be my mother who divorced this tall, dark and handsome cowboy ten years ago.

It takes a hurricane for Charles and me to be under the same roof again. Forced to be in the same house with my ex-stepdad, I can’t help trying to torment him, but things don’t go exactly according to my plan.

A brutally bearded man in his forties built like the Terminator is not a normal care package. Yet, that’s exactly who shows up on my doorstep, courtesy of my mother.

Pyotr looks fearsome and moves like a ninja with superpowers. Fortunately, he also has a dry sense of humor, unlimited patience, and the cooking prowess of a Russian grandmother. I couldn’t have wished for a more useful housemate. He became my driver, my personal chef, and my emergency alarm clock.

Undercover

Duty before desire. It should be easy.

Skye – To catch a serial killer, I jump at the chance to go undercover with the most brilliant homicide detective that ever existed. Although I admired Nick Woods from afar for some time, I hadn’t expected to feel something else from up close. The trouble is, I’m undercover as his daughter and the intense attraction between us is all kinds of wrong. In the pretend world, we’re father and daughter. In the real world, we’re colleagues.

Nick – I struggle to remain professional despite the insane desire I feel for my young colleague. Her obvious fascination with me isn’t making things easier. She’s so young. So bright. So unlike me.

My new identity forces me to embrace the darkness.

Skye – As I dive into the deadly the world of illegal fights run by the Russian mafia, my success depends on my martial arts skills and my high pain threshold. My survival hinges on my ability to be one with the shadows. My only relief from the constant tension of my mission is in Nick’s bed.

Nick – My patience was forged in the heat of the hunt. From every criminal I caught, I learned to wait. Now, waiting is hell. The woman I love has descended in the underworld and all I can do is wait for her to come out on the other side. She’s young. She’s strong. She will come back. But when she visits me at night, I can sense she’s changing. Will she still want me after this job is done?

I thought I blew my last chance for happiness when the woman I loved walked away.

For the first time in my life, I had found someone who accepted my darkness and loved me. And yet, I lost her when I refused her what she most wanted from me. After our roads parted, I took a job teaching an advanced course on interrogation when alarming news about Skye force me to dive unprepared into a dangerous undercover mission.

Despite her extensive experience, Skye got lost in deep cover, and the Agency that sent her now sees her as a liability. I must race against time to bring her back before the Agency’s kill order comes into effect. Will I reach the real Skye or is she gone for good?

This trilogy explores a complicated and evolving love story between an older man and a younger woman. Both of them are police officers with experience working undercover. The story is dark but the danger and the violence come from their job, not from each other.

The story is intended for mature audience. There is explicit language and violence. Due to the nature of their job, the characters are in dangerous situations outside their control, and sometimes they have to resort to measures that some people may find disturbing.

All three books include graphic sex scenes.
In Danger includes mentions of murders, rape and violence. The main character is assaulted.
In Shadow includes descriptions of violence as part of MMA fights and torture.
In Chaos includes BDSM elements like bondage, domination and power exchange scenes.
